A good friend once advised me never ever to put money into these little kiddie rides. She said if you do it once, you'll have to do it every time. But if you never do it, they'll never know the difference. Wise indeed, Lucia has a great time even if they're stationary.

Ha! I do the same thing but every once in a while some nice old grandma or grandpa will come over and offer to put money in it for me. I think one guy was pretty shocked that the rides in the mall cost 75 cents each. I put both the boys in one car so he didn't have to shell out $1.50 for some kids he doesn't even know :)
