New Shades

Check out Lucia in her cute new sunglasses! Normally, she won’t let me get them anywhere near her face, but today she was feeling a little adventurous and saw the world in a slightly different way...for about two minutes.

Two Words: Chocolate Cake

Lucia finally was allowed to get her hands on some sugar…chocolate cake, frosting, yum, yum, yum. She was a little timid at first, but soon got very into it – literally. That’s what first birthdays are all about, right?

Birthday Bash

The day finally arrived: the biggest birthday bash of the year! After a lot of preparation, the party turned out fabulous. Lucia got to celebrate turning one with all our friends. Even though she cried a little when it was time to blow out the candle, she really did have a great time that day. It was a very special first birthday!

Lucia had a very nice first birthday on May 28th, 2008. She spent the day with all the family (Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Grandpa and Abuela). The party wasn’t until the weekend, so the only present she got that day was her push-toy. She loves walking around with it. She’s such a big girl now!

We decided to take a short trip across the border and into Oman. We had a nice time even though Lucia was feeling slightly ill. Her fever didn’t stop her from having fun with Nana and Grandpa. She loved playing with Grandpa’s hat!

Lucia's Throne

Lucia finally got her new “big girl carseat.” Nana and Grandpa brought it with them from the U.S. and she couldn’t even wait for us to put it in the car. She climbed into it before we ever left the house!
